Oncological hyperthermia

Deep local tumor hyperthermia is a technique to treat solid tumors by raising the temperature over the area of the tumor lesion with a German device of high reliability and effectiveness called CELSIUS42. The application of heat generated by an electric field on the tumor area has a proper anti-tumor effect at the same time that it generates an immune-modulatory effect and sensitizes the tumor cells, which, weakened, are more easily destroyed by other agents such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy. For this reason, the main indication for treatment with hyperthermia is its use in combination with other oncological treatments since it increases its effectiveness. Institut Khuab is a pioneer and reference in the use of this treatment in Catalonia and Spain, and we work daily to advance clinical research on the use of hyperthermia in oncology.
